Baby Boy Estlick

By Julie | September 24, 2007

We are now 17 weeks into the pregnancy! I’m still feeling lousy most mornings, but doctors and friends say that should end soon – here’s hoping :-) . All of our prenatal tests have looked good. If you’re wondering how we know the sex so soon, thank the wonders of modern technology. We did a CVS test at 11 weeks, which grows tissue from the placenta and looks at the chromosomes. The right number were there, a big relief after our miscarriage last spring.

It’s great working from home and being able to take an hour off if my stomach isn’t right. I’m now writing for Style Magazine, the Fort Collins Coloradoan, Grinnell Magazine and doing a monthly health column for NoCoMoms, a nationwide Gannett publication that goes under different names in Burlingont, Vt., Salem, Ore. and other small cities. Our four cats really like having me around during the day, too!

I haven’t had too many strange cravings, but I definitely wake up wanting certain things to eat almost every day. Mike is patient and understands not to argue when I declare “the baby wants mint chip ice cream!”
